I am in love with the Birds 'n' Bees wallpaper, and I am so impressed with the recent Timorous Beasties collaborations:
Client : Blackburn Museum
Date : December 2011
Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery was one of the first museums to open outside London in 1874, and houses a rich and fascinating collection of paintings, Japanese woodblock prints, Christian icons and medieval manuscripts. Timorous Beasties explored the collections of Japanese prints housed at the museum to provide inspiration for the printed facade applied to one of the town's buildings to promote the work of the Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery.
Stratford Market Station
Client : Newham Council on advice from Contemporary Arts Society
Date : June 2011
The Tree of Life design was reproduced in brilliant colour on optically clear vinyl to provide privacy to diners in the café upstairs and workers in the offices downstairs in the old Stratford Market Station building on Stratford High Street, East London.
UK Supreme Court
Client : Ministry of Justice
Date : July 2009
When the grade II listed building, the Middlesex Guild Hall, was refurbished to become the UK Supreme Court in 2009, Timorous Beasties were commissioned by Feilden and Mawson, with designing and producing bespoke drapes throughout the interior including the double-height court II.
The result was sumptuous blue velvet, hand printed drapes featuring the emblems of the four nations of the United Kingdom: England's rose; Scotland's thistle; the Welsh leek and the blue flax flower for Northern Ireland.
